Terms & Conditions

The terms that govern entry into the Race to Rotax Scholarship, how the process is run and how participation, media, selection and prize arrangements are handled.

Scholarship Framework.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all entrants, parents, guardians and guests involved in the Race to Rotax Scholarship. Entry into the Scholarship constitutes acceptance of these terms.

Organiser

The Race to Rotax Scholarship ("the Scholarship") is organised by Dave Edwards Racing ("DER") in collaboration with Anders Lad & Dad Karting.

Eligibility

2.1 Entrants must:

  • Be aged between 12 and 15 years old at the time of application
  • Have parental/legal guardian consent
  • Be physically capable of participating in karting and assessment activities

2.2 The Scholarship is aimed at drivers progressing from:

  • Rental Karting
  • Club100
  • DRS
  • Arrive & Drive Championships
  • Other grassroots karting categories

2.3 Drivers currently competing in Junior Rotax are permitted to enter the Scholarship.

2.4 The organisers reserve the right to refuse or remove any entrant at any stage.

Entry Fees

3.1 Stage 1 entry fees are non-refundable except in the event of cancellation by the organisers.

3.2 Entry fees cover participation in the Scholarship process only and do not guarantee progression to later stages.

3.3 Additional travel, accommodation and related costs are the responsibility of entrants and their families unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Selection Process

4.1 The Scholarship consists of multiple assessment stages which may include:

  • Application reviews
  • Video submissions
  • On-track performance assessments
  • Fitness and reaction testing
  • Media/interview assessments
  • Professionalism and conduct evaluations

4.2 Selection decisions are made solely by the organisers and appointed judges.

4.3 Judges' decisions are final and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into.

Conduct & Behaviour

5.1 All entrants, parents and guests are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times.

5.2 Abuse, harassment, threatening behaviour, unsporting conduct or bringing the Scholarship into disrepute may result in immediate removal without refund.

5.3 The organisers reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is considered unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate.

Media & Content

6.1 By entering the Scholarship, entrants and parents/guardians consent to:

  • Photography
  • Videography
  • Social media content creation
  • Promotional use of names, images and likenesses

6.2 Content may be used across:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Websites
  • Promotional materials
  • Sponsor content

6.3 The organisers retain the right to use such content indefinitely for promotional and commercial purposes relating to the Scholarship and associated activities.

The Prize

7.1 The Scholarship winner will receive a fully funded 2027 season with Dave Edwards Racing in The Kart Championship, competing in Junior Primo or Junior Rotax.

7.2 Subject to availability, partner support and the final agreed programme, the funded package is intended to include:

  • A 2026 OTK kart
  • A Junior Rotax engine
  • Race tyres
  • Mechanic support
  • Coaching from British level drivers
  • Kart storage, preparation and transport provided by DER
  • Race suit, gloves and boots
  • Teamwear package
  • Entry into 6 rounds of The Kart Championship, including Friday practice

7.3 The organisers reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the funded package where necessary, including where supplier, sponsor, championship or operational circumstances change.

7.4 Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the prize may not include:

  • Crash damage
  • Personal travel/accommodation
  • Optional testing outside agreed programme
  • Personal equipment
  • Non-agreed consumables

7.5 The prize is non-transferable and carries no cash alternative.

Liability

8.1 Motorsport and karting activities carry inherent risks.

8.2 By entering, participants and parents/guardians acknowledge and accept these risks.

8.3 The organisers shall not be liable for:

  • Personal injury except where caused by proven negligence
  • Damage to personal equipment/property
  • Travel/accommodation costs
  • Event cancellations outside reasonable control

Event Changes

9.1 The organisers reserve the right to:

  • Amend event formats
  • Change venues
  • Adjust schedules
  • Modify assessment formats
  • Cancel or postpone events where necessary

General

11.1 Entry into the Scholarship constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

11.2 The organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time where reasonably necessary.

11.3 English law shall govern these Terms & Conditions.
